Olive oil calories per tablespoon, teaspoon, 100ml and 100g, why light olive oil is not lower in calories, and how much of a pan pour actually ends up on your plate.
Olive oil is the most calorie-dense thing in most kitchens and the least carefully measured. Nobody weighs it. It leaves the bottle in a movement, not a portion, and a movement can be 8 kcal or 200 depending on how long the wrist stays tilted.
This is the food where the gap between what people log and what they eat is widest. Here are the actual numbers.
The quick answer
Olive oil is 884 kcal per 100g, which is 100% fat. One tablespoon is 13.5g, so about 119 kcal. USDA reference data puts every plain vegetable oil at the same figure, because they are all pure fat and fat is 9 kcal per gram.
The confusion comes from volume. Olive oil has a density of about 0.916g per ml, so it is lighter than water. That means 100ml is 91.6g, not 100g.

What a free pour actually is

Extra virgin, virgin, light, pomace: identical calories
This is the single most common misunderstanding about olive oil, and the labelling encourages it.

Every one is 100% fat. "Light" describes colour and flavour intensity. It has never described calories, and no version of olive oil has fewer.
The real difference is polyphenol content and smoke point. Extra virgin carries the antioxidants and the flavour and starts smoking around 190C / 375F. Refined oils tolerate 210C / 410F and taste of nothing, which is sometimes what you want.

Is olive oil worth the calories?
Yes, and this is one of the few places in nutrition where the evidence is unusually consistent.
The PREDIMED trial, a large randomised controlled trial published in the New England Journal of Medicine, assigned participants to a Mediterranean diet supplemented with extra virgin olive oil, the same diet supplemented with nuts, or a low-fat control. Both higher-fat Mediterranean arms showed fewer major cardiovascular events than the low-fat arm, despite eating more total fat and more calories from fat.
Olive oil is also mostly monounsaturated fat, and it carries polyphenols that refined oils lose. American Heart Association guidance on fats puts unsaturated oils as replacements for saturated fat rather than as additions on top.
The word "additions" is the whole point. Olive oil is a good fat to have in your calorie budget. It is a bad fat to have outside of it, because it is the densest thing on your counter.

Logging a pour as a tablespoon

Assuming light olive oil saves calories
It does not, at all. Zero difference. If you switched to light olive oil for weight loss, you changed the flavour of your food and nothing else.
Thinking oil burns off in the oven
Fat does not evaporate. Only water does. Whatever you poured on the tray is on your plate unless it ran off and stayed on the tray.
Using a big bottle straight into the pan
Large bottles pour faster and give no feedback. A small bottle, a spray, or a measuring spoon changes the amount without changing the intention. This is the single most effective fix.
Cutting oil out instead of measuring it

There is no low-calorie olive oil, no cooking method that reduces it, and no bottle label that changes it. There is only how much left the bottle.
